Yard Meter Aluminium
The TagMeter Yard Meter (YMMI) is an above ground water dispensor. This highly effective meter system is made of extruded anodized aluminium panels with a casted and powder coated aluminium top part which holds the electronics.
We did choose for aluminium with a special purpose. Benefits of using a material like aluminium is:
Lightweight: Aluminum weighs less by volume than most other metals. In fact, it is about one-third the weight of iron, steel, copper, or brass. This makes it easier to handle and less expensive to ship.
Strong: Aluminum profiles can be made as strong as needed for most applications. Cold-weather applications are particularly well-served by aluminum because, as temperatures fall, aluminum actually becomes stronger.
Non-corrosive: Aluminum does not rust. It’s protected by its own naturally occurring oxide film, a protection that can be further enhanced by anodizing or other finishing techniques.
Resilient: Aluminum combines strength with flexibility and can flex under loads or spring back from the shock of impact. An advantage of using this material is that these panels are not sensitive for corrosion (do not rust). Further the construction is very sturdy and long lasting. There is no degeneration of the material by sunlight or UV-radiation.
The Top part or Cap which holds the electronics has a mechanism which protects the 2 line LCD Dot Matrix display from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
Inside the aluminium panels we have the following:
- Flowmeter and valve are combined in one body made of a special technical plastic which grows and shrinks with temperature changes so in freezing conditions the body will not burst. Also the material is non-stick so particles in the water can not block the turbine
- Manual ball valve
- External easy to clean strainer
- Connection to water network: either easy snap-fit or threaded connection 1G
Available options:
1. Deaerator: removed air from the incomming pipeline
2. Mini Hydro Generator: a unique small scale hydro generator which powers all electronics when water is flowing through the meter and shutting down the power supply of the battery pack, resulting in a much longger life time of the battery pack
