Some countries are arid developing countries facing a challenge of providing water on a sustainable basis to all its citizens.
Because of extreme scarcity of water and the accompanying high cost of supply as well as other factors such as poverty, the supply of water in these countries is a hotly contested issue. Therefore a water connection in every house is not allways possible.
For these situations we have developed Communal Standpipes or Communal Water Dispensors where citizens can get their water if there is no water connection in the house.
The Standpipe is made of one of the following materials:
- Stainless steel. A cover can be placed over the electronics part.
- Extruded Aluminium with a a special Anodized finish
The Aluminium version has an special Anodized finish. Benefits using aluminium are:
- Light weight
- Higly corrosian resistant
- Hard surface
Inside the enclosure a ball valve, water strainer and our standard flow meter is placed
Because several people are using the same Standpipe, the electronics are programmed in such a way that they can accept several (in principle unlimited) UserTags. Also we can take in account so called an amount of "free water" distribution.
A big advantage of our system is that there is no slot to insert a card or what so ever, because we use contact less RFID Transponder Tags.Therefor the electronics can be protected completely by potting them and mist, humidity, and dust can not reach the electronics. Also vandalism by sticking in gum and glue in a slot is prevented.
NEW!!! A Standipe or Yardmeter (meter placed in the yard) can be equipped with a hydro generator. The flow of water generates enough power to operate the meter.
